Tampa group travel

Why groups in Hillsborough County call us

Tampa is a drive-in cruise market, and almost every group transportation decision here follows from that one fact. Where PortMiami fills with passengers who flew in that morning, Port Tampa Bay fills with Floridians who drove down from Orlando, Ocala, The Villages, and the Panhandle. That means the group is usually already together before the trip starts, the luggage is already in one place, and the real question is whether forty people take twelve cars and pay twelve parking fees for a week, or take one coach and pay none.

The parking arithmetic is the part groups underestimate. A week of cruise parking per car, multiplied across a dozen vehicles, routinely costs more than the coach that would have carried everyone and gone home. It also removes the problem of a dozen drivers finding the same terminal at the same time, which at Port Tampa Bay is not one location but several.

The other Tampa variable is the bay. Groups coming from St. Petersburg, Clearwater, or the beaches cross the Howard Frankland, the Gandy, or the Courtney Campbell, and those three bridges do not fail at the same times or for the same reasons. A charter that plans a beach pickup without deciding which crossing it is using has not really planned it.

If the group is crossing the bay from St. Petersburg or the beaches, tell us where everyone is starting from. Which bridge we use changes the departure time by more than most people expect, and we would rather decide that in advance.

Ready to price your Tampa trip?

Reach us however you like. A person who actually knows the routes answers, not a call center reading from a script.

Port Tampa Bay sails heaviest between October and April, and Saturday turnaround mornings in that window are the first dates to go. Buccaneers home Sundays and the Gasparilla season book out separately.

  1. You send the basics. Date, pickup, destination, headcount. That is enough to price it.
  2. We send one all-in number. Bus, driver, and fuel together, with tolls and parking itemized.
  3. You approve, we hold the coach. Paperwork and certificates follow for schools and vendors.
Local questions

Tampa questions

Is a charter bus cheaper than parking at Port Tampa Bay?

For a group of any size, usually yes, and the comparison is the one worth running. Cruise parking is charged per car per day, so a group arriving in ten or twelve vehicles pays that ten or twelve times over for the length of the sailing. One coach carries the same people, and there is nothing left in the garage accruing charges while you are at sea.

Which terminal will you drop us at?

Whichever one your ship is assigned, which is why we ask for the cruise line and ship name rather than just the date. Port Tampa Bay uses Terminals 2, 3 and 6, they are not next door to one another, and being dropped at the wrong one means a walk with a week of luggage.

Can you collect a group from St. Petersburg or Clearwater?

Yes, and the bay crossing is part of the plan rather than an afterthought. The Howard Frankland, the Gandy, and the Courtney Campbell each behave differently depending on the hour, so we pick the crossing when we build the schedule and add the buffer that crossing actually needs.

What does a charter bus cost in Tampa?

Tampa prices below Miami and above the smaller Gulf Coast markets, and the driver hours matter more than the mileage. A cruise transfer that waits for a group to clear the terminal is a different quote to the same distance run straight through. Everything comes back as one flat all-in figure including driver gratuity and fuel.

Do you cover Brandon, Riverview, and Temple Terrace?

Yes, along with Westshore, Channelside, Ybor City, Carrollwood, and Town n Country. Pickups outside the city core are routine; tell us the addresses and we sequence the loop so the first group on board is not sitting through the entire route.

Moving a group in Hillsborough County?

Tell us the date and the headcount. We will send back one all-in number.
