Getting there

Group transport to Walt Disney World

The property covers roughly forty square miles, which is the fact that catches out every group organiser doing it for the first time. Four theme parks, two water parks, an entertainment district, and dozens of resort hotels, each with separate coach access. Getting to the property is easy; getting to the right gate at the right time is the job.

Groups arriving by coach do not use the same route as cars. Each park has a designated bus loading area, and they are meaningfully closer to the entrance than the general lots. For a school group with a hundred students, or a family party with grandparents, that difference decides how much of the day is spent walking.

Most of the groups we carry here are travelling in rather than staying on property: school reward trips, youth organisations, church groups, and family reunions coming up from South Florida or across from the Gulf Coast. Those journeys are long enough that the vehicle choice and the driver hours matter as much as the destination does.

At a glance

Where: Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Busy season: Year-round, peaking spring break, summer, and the holiday season

Typical drive: About 30 minutes from MCO, 3.5 hours from Miami, 90 minutes from Tampa

Worth knowing

  • Every park has its own gate. Forty square miles and four separate coach entrances. Which park decides the whole approach.
  • Coach drop beats the lots. Designated bus areas sit considerably closer in. It matters most with children or older relatives.
  • Long hauls need planning. Three and a half hours from South Florida. Full-size coach with a restroom, and honest talk about the day length.
  • Fix the return point. A group of a hundred finding a coach at closing is hard. Agree the point and the time in advance.

Ready to price your trip to Disney World?

Reach us however you like. A person who actually knows the routes answers, not a call center reading from a script.

May reward trips and the holiday season are the two hardest windows. School groups book a semester ahead.

  1. You send the basics. Date, pickup, destination, headcount. That is enough to price it.
  2. We send one all-in number. Bus, driver, and fuel together, with tolls and parking itemized.
  3. You approve, we hold the coach. Paperwork and certificates follow for schools and vendors.
Common questions

Getting a group to Disney World

Where does a charter bus drop off at Disney World?

At the designated bus loading area for whichever park you are visiting, which is separate from guest parking and closer to the entrance. Tell us the park when you book and we will confirm the current arrangement.

Can you bring a group from Miami or Fort Lauderdale?

Regularly, and it is around three and a half hours each way. That earns a full-size coach with a restroom, and it is worth planning the day around the travel rather than treating it as a transfer.

Do you handle school reward trips?

It is one of our biggest May bookings. Certificates of insurance at district limits, cleared drivers, per-student costings, and a return timed to the bell rather than to park closing.

Can the coach stay with our group for the day?

Yes, and for groups visiting more than one park or adding Disney Springs in the evening it is usually the better arrangement than two separate runs.

Are you affiliated with the resort?

No. We are an independent charter operator providing transportation to the area. We have no affiliation with the resort or its operator, and we do not sell park admission.

Causeway Coach is an independent transportation provider. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or an official transportation provider for any venue, park, speedway, or attraction named on this page.
