Mainland hotels are cheaper, more plentiful, and easier for guests to reach from the airport, and the shuttle removes the island parking question completely rather than distributing it across forty cars.
The other reason it works is the return. Island parking enforcement is real, the bridges get slower as the evening goes on, and nobody wants to drive back across one after a reception. A loop that runs the guests home is worth the hours it costs, particularly on a wedding where the bar is doing well.

Earlier than for a mainland wedding. We build the bridge into the timing and generally start the first loop ninety minutes ahead of the ceremony, so a slow crossing is an inconvenience rather than a problem.
